Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw: I live in Karnataka, not Maharashtra

Bengaluru, Oct 15 (UNI) Biocon founder and Executive Chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw today defended her criticism of Bengaluru's infrastructure, stating that her focus was on Karnataka's issues as she lived in the state and had a vested interest in its development.
Her response came after AICC Secretary Mansoor Khan questioned why her criticism was limited to Karnataka while she remained "silent" on similar issues in Maharashtra and at the Centre. "I live in Karnataka, not Maharashtra. I have a vested interest in my city and state," Shaw retorted, adding that her comments stemmed from concern for Bengaluru's deteriorating roads and waste management.
Khan, who unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha election from Bangalore Central, accused Shaw of ignoring issues like "unfair GST policies" and "inequitable tax distribution" by the Centre. Karnataka Labour Minister Santosh Lad also joined in, saying Shaw had never voiced concern over national taxation issues on social media.

More darshan time allotted to common devotees: TTD EO

Tirumala, Nov 7 (UNI) Asserting that among the available darshan time in a day, priority is given to common devotees only rather than the VIPs and ticket holders, said TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal. Even today, in the avialable Darshan time, over 70 percent time is allotted to common devotees. However, he said TTD Board has formed a committee to resolve the issues in various formats of darshan and ensure a hassle free darshan to the devotees.
