Khattar launches Smart-E service in Gurgaon

Chandigarh, Mar 6 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today launched Smart-E service, a unique eco-friendly last mile transport service, which will provide a safe, sustainable and professionally managed last mile connectivity service for the millennium city in Gurgaon.
Smart-E of Treasure Vase Ventures (TVV), will provide its services from key metro stations and other high-footfall areas like corporate parks, shopping areas and residential colonies. The vehicles, which are fully ‘Made in India’ feature an integrated CCTV camera, GPS tracking and other prominent safety features.
The vehicles will also have a Digital Metering App to ensure accurate and transparent pricing for the passengers based on the distance they travel in the vehicle. TVV will also shortly introduce an app that will allow passengers to book a Smart-E in advance for greater convenience.
The first batch of 50 Smart-E will serve MG Road metro station, Sikanderpur metro station, Cybercity, DLF Phase 2 and 3, among other high footfall areas. The company plans to introduce another 100 Smart-Es by April and increase the fleet size to 500 by mid-year and 1,000 by year-end to cover all areas in Gurgaon.
Speaking at the launch, Mr Manjul Kumar, official spokesperson, Smart-E said, “Citizens of Gurgaon are faced with a serious challenge when it comes to safe and reliable last mile transport connectivity. Launch of Smart-E is a step in helping the city address that challenge. We have been very encouraged by the support from the Haryana Government and are especially thankful to Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon, the Road Transport Department, HUDA, Gurgaon Police and Gurgaon Traffic Police.”
While addressing the issue of safety and sustainability, Smart-E also provides comprehensive
skill-building and employability for the pilots (drivers).Smart-E is creating country’s first organised category of electric last mile connectivity service.
With this launch Gurgaon becomes the second city after Delhi to get the Smart-E service.
Smart-E made its debut in Delhi in October 2015 serving localities in West Delhi where it has been successfully operational for last few months. The service is being expanded to South Delhi shortly.

MP CM meets Union ministers to chart out development roadmap

Bhopal, July 6 (UNI) In the course of a two-day visit to the national capital, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had marathon meetings with central leaders and apprised them of endeavours undertaken to scotch COVID-19 on top priority, discussed issues such as wheat procurement, solar project execution, granting of Geographical Indication tag for basmati rice, wheat procured last year to be taken in central pool, issuance of five permits for oil and natural gas exploration plus release of additional urea, it was officially learnt.
Mr Chouhan has been having seamless dialogue with Premier Narendra Modi through videoconferencing. As a direct consequence, the plan process – in terms of allocation of funds and schemes for the state – is likely to witness acceleration.

MP asks for more urea from Centre

Bhopal, July 6 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday requested Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister DV Sadananda Gowda for immediate additional allocation of 5.75 lakh metric tonnes urea, official sources said.
During the interaction in the national capital, the visiting politician averred, “The requirement break-up is 1.5 lakh MT for July and the remainder for August plus September.”

The central leader assured enhancement of carbamide quota and also consented to increasing rake points.

Lack of infrastructure, testing facilities responsible for high mortality rate due to corona pandemic in MMR: Fadnavis

Thane, Jul 6 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly Devendra Fadnavis on Monday blamed the lack of coordination between various agencies, lack of infrastructure facilities and low rate of testing facilities for the high rate of mortality due to the corona pandemic in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

MP CM urges Centre for permits

Bhopal, July 6 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was in a meeting on Monday with Steel, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at the latter’s New Delhi abode, it was officially learnt.
“The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited applied for exploration permits in my state and every formality in this regard has been completed by our Mineral Resources Department. I urge you to grant five licenses in this context,” the visiting stalwart averred.

Assam registers 786 new nCoV cases, tally reaches 12,522

Guwahati, Jul 6 (UNI) With the detection of 786 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, out of which 598 were from Guwahati, the total tally in the state surged to 12,522, State Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma informed here.
