Khattar announces new DTOs in place of RTA

Chandigarh, Oct 17 (UNI) After tightening the noose around those involved in corrupt practices in Tehsil offices by successfully implementing e-registration in Tehsils, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday announced that new District Transport Officers (DTOs), in place of RTA Secretaries will be appointed in every district so as to ensure that Regional Transport Authority (RTA), which is said to be a corruption hub too works in a transparent and corruption free manner.
The Chief Minister was addressing a press conference at Haryana Niwas here today. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Manohar Lal said that on the auspicious occasion of Navaratri festival starting from today, he had pledged to eradicate corruption in every government department after ensuring implementation of Zero tolerance against corruption in RTAs.
Mr. Khattar said that this is the second initiative of the State government as per which separate DTOs will be appointed in the RTA offices. Earlier HCS officers were appointed as the Chief Executive Officers of Zila Parishad. He said that the DTOs will be appointed within the next two days and now all 22 districts in the State will have DTOs instead of Regional Transport Authority Secretaries (RTAs).
