Khattapura firing: Govt announces Rs 20 lakh ex gratia

Bhopal/Vidisha, Aug 10 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Home Minister and government spokesman Narottam Mishra on Wednesday announced ex gratia of Rs 20 lakh for the next of kin of a tribesman, who was killed during firing in Vidisha district’s Lateri tehsil, and Rs 5 lakh each to those injured.
“The entire treatment expenditure shall be borne by the dispensation. The accused have been placed under suspension,” he told media representatives here.
Meanwhile, Collector Umashankar Bhargav confirmed the formation of a judicial inquiry committee. A member of the deceased’s family shall be inducted into government service. The bereaved alleged that some of them were looking for their buffaloes in the dark within Khattapura area when a Forest Department team opened fire killing Chain Singh on the spot.
