Kerala to probe single digit lottery fraud

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 21 (UNI) Kerala Government has ordered a high-level probe into the rampant fraud of single-digit lotteries in various districts in the State, Finance Minister TM Issac Thomas told the Assembly today.
The Minister said this while replying to V D Satheesan of Congress who sought the leave of the House to move an adjournment motion seeking discussion over spread of single digit lottery frauds in various districts of the State causing financial burden to lotteries department.
The Minister said a high level police team headed by Inspector General of Police Balram Kumar Upadhyay would conduct the probe in this regard as various news channels had already reported that the single-digit frauds are taking place in the State. About 46 cases were registered in Kannur alone against such gambling, he added.
