Kerala: Sunstroke claims two lives in Palakkad

Palakkad, April 23 (UNI) Two people died in Kuthanur and Attapadi in Palakkad district, reported on Tuesday as alleged heat-related sun strokes.
According to the police, the deceased was identified as P. Haridas (65) of Kuthanur. He was found dead with burns all over his body near the house around 1700 hrs on April 21 and shifted the body to the district hospital here. The post-mortem report revealed on Tuesday that Haridas lying on the ground after drinking excessive liquor led to a sunstroke effect following the direct exposure to the sun. The body was handed over to the relatives, police said.
Meanwhile, a similar incident was also confirmed at Attapadi. Senthil (50), residing in Oottukuzhy at Sholayur, died on Monday night. Senthil was found dead near his friend's house with burn injuries due to a stroke, and the residents rushed him to Kottathara Hospital, but doctors declared him dead.
