Kerala reports 21 COVID deaths, 7,006 new cases

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 26 (UNI) Kerala reported 21 deaths due to COVID-19 on Saturday pushing the death toll to 656 whereas 7,006 people tested positive to the virus taking the tally of infected to 2,22,330.
"Of the newly reported positive cases today, 6,668 are contact cases with the source of infection not traceable in 664 cases. Of those diagnosed today, 68 have come back from overseas and 177 from other states. 93 healthcare workers were among those infected," a statement said.
The district-wise figures for those who tested positive for Coronavirus today are Thiruvananthapuram 1,050, Malappuram 826, Ernakulam 729, Kozhikode 684, Thrissur 594, Kollam 589, Palakkad 547, Kannur 435, Alappuzha 414, Kottayam 389, Pathanamthitta 329, Kasargod 224, Idukki 107 and Wayanad 89.
