Kerala Govt to take against owners of fishing boats if Chinese made AIS was used

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 11 (UNI) Kerala Government has decided to take action against owners of fishing boats if they use Chinese-made satellite security device 'Automatic Identification System (AIS).'
The AIS, an automated satellite tracking system that identifies other vessels in the vicinity, can be misused affecting National security, State Fisheries Department said in a release here on Monday.
Citing security threat, the Fisheries Department has decided to take action against those who installed the device in their fishing vessels, the release added.
