Kerala govt lenient towards terror modules: BJP

Kozhikode, Oct 7 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party in Kerala on Saturday said the Communist Party of India (Marxist), heading the Left Democratic Front government in the state, was adopting a soft attitude towards 'Jihadi' elements in the state.

BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan, leading the ''Janaraksha Yatra'' (foot-march) aimed at protecting the people across the state, said this was evident from the government stand opposing National Investigation Agency probe into Akhila Hadia conversion case.
The conversion case was related to one Akhila, a Hindu woman marrying a Muslim man after converting to Islam in the state. The NIA had ordered a probe into the case after the Kerala High Court declared the marriage null and void.
Accusing the government of surrendering to terror modules, he said the people wanted to know on what basis the government decided against the NIA probe as the Kerala High Court was in possession of evidence on Shafin Jahan, who converted her to Islam.
He said both the LDF and the Congress-led Opposition United Democratic Front had created atmosphere conducive for activities of such elements in the state, adding that they were ignoring the threat caused by these elements.
On CPI (M) state Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan's statement that BJP cannot grow where CPI (M) existed, he said this was a warning to the Congress in the state as the former wanted to align with the Congress take on the BJP.
BJP minority morcha all India president Abdul Rashid Anzari, Richard Hey, MP, party national executive committee member Adv P S Sreedharan Pillai, senior leaders V Muraleedharan, M T Ramesh, V K Sajeevan, Sobha Surendran and Adv Prakash Babu, among others, spoke at a reception accord to the yatra at Vatakara in the district.
BJP president Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and several Union Ministers participated in the yatra while passing through CPI (M) stronghold Kannur two days ago.
The yatra, aimed at exposing alleged violent politics pursued by the CPI (M), will conclude in Thiruvananthapuram on October 17.
