New Delhi, Aug 19 (UNI) The Indian Navy has augmented its ‘Operation Madad’ with a greater tempo to meet the increasing requests for relief and rescue from the flood affected areas of Kerala.
So far, over 15000 people have been rescued to the safer places in the flood hit state Kerala, the Southern Naval Command has been continuing the rescue and relief operation with a greater tempo and augmented the operation by Gemini boats, divers and other resources from both Eastern and Western Naval Commands of the India Navy.
“ As of 1630 hrs on Sunday, the eleventh day of operation, the total number of diving teams deployed were 92, which have been sent to multiple locations across the affected districts. Twenty newly inducted teams were put into action on Sunday morning to augment those already in place”, Indian Navy said.
