Kerala cops arrest 147 people as part of Operation D-Hunt

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 12 (UNI) Kerala Police detained 147 people and seized MDMA and other drugs as part of the 'Operation D-Hunt', a statewide special drive to crack down on drug trafficking.
During the operation, 1,828 individuals suspected of involvement in the drug sales were inspected. Police registered 134 cases for possession of various banned narcotics. A release said, "The seized contraband included MDMA (0.03447 kg), ganja (42.9687 kg), and 93 ganja-laced cigarettes".
The operation, conducted across the state on Sunday, aimed to identify and take strict legal action against those involved in the storage and distribution of illegal drugs. A 24-hour Anti-Narcotics Control Room is available to receive information from the public about drug-related activities. All informants’ details are kept strictly confidential.
