Kerala CM thanks people for their support to Left in by polls

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 24 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday thanked people of the State for their support and warmly congratulated the Left MLAs who won the bypolls, held in five Assembly constituencies.

"Thank you Kerala. We are humbled by your support for the Government. The Left Democratic Front has made significant gains. Kerala has once again rejected the politics of hate and reiterated its commitment to progressive politics. My warm greetings to all the elected MLAs," the Chief Minister said in a tweet.

"The results indicate a resounding support for the policies of the Government. The Chief Minister also thanked the people of the State for their support," he added.

Later, talking to newspersons here, the Chief Minister said the bypoll result shows that the peoples' support to the Left Government has increased considerably.

"The Left had 91 MLAs when it came to power. Now, it rose to 93," he added.

The people supported LDF in Pala bypoll. The Congress-led UDF lost the support of common people.

The divisive politics of BJP was rejected by the people. The results of Maharashtra and Haryana are not upto the expectations of the BJP, he added.
