Kerala Cabinet decides to implement 'Stree Sakthi' scheme

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 3 (UNI) Kerala Cabinet today decided to implement 'Stree Sakthi' scheme aimed at the development and empowerment of women, especially those belonging to the weaker sections in the State.
Briefing on Cabinet decisions, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said the scheme will utilize the revenue earnings from the renamed Dhana Sree lottery, which would from now onwards take the name of Stree Sakthi.
The scheme has been formulated on the model of Karunya lottery, the sales proceedings of which is providing relief to a large number of patients in the State.
