Kerala bans social gathering under provisions of Section 144

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 1 (UNI) Kerala Government has banned gathering of more than five people under the provisions of Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) for the enforcement of social distancing in view of surge in number of Covid-19 cases in the State.
"Public congregations and gatherings pose an impending danger of a super spread of the infection. Hence, an assembly or gathering of more than 5 people at a time can not be permitted," according to a Government Order issued by Chief Secretary Vishwas Mehta here on Thursday evening.
"District Magistrates are directed to assess the ground situation in their districts
