Ken-Betwa river linking project to commence from March: Gadkari

Lucknow, Jan 25 (UNI) Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's dream project to link rivers is likely to take shape in March as Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh will sign an agreement to link Ken and Betwa rivers, Union Surface Transport and Waterways Minister Nitin Gadkari declared here on Thursday.
According to Mr Gadkari, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) will take over more than 2000 km road in UP, by the end of this fiscal.
The decision was taken by Mr Gadkari in a meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, which was also attended by PWD Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, here on Thursday night.

Khandwa, MP, Oct 24 (UNI) Abrasiveness appears to be skyrocketing in Madhya Pradesh’s electoral politics as Congress legislator Jitu Patwari averred on Saturday that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is not even equivalent to the dust on his predecessor Kamal Nath’s feet.
“Mr Nath is such a personage that he expedites development work even if a phone call is placed to him. On the contrary, Mr Chouhan and erstwhile central minister Jyotiraditya Scindia set up a MLAs’ ‘market’,” the former minister quipped while addressing a by-poll rally in Mandhata Assembly constituency.
