New Delhi, Jul 6 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia on Monday wished 14th Dalai Lama on his 85th birthday.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Mr Kejriwal said, “We are fortunate to have start #HappinessCurriculum in Delhi schools with the blessings of His Holiness Dalai Lama. We are thankful to him for this. Happy Birthday to the Dalai Lama. @DalaiLama”.
Mr Sisodia said,”Happiest 85th birthday to His Holiness Dalai Lama―the harbinger of scientific search of happiness, through compassion. Delhi has been lucky to have his blessings throughout, especially for #HappinessCurriculum. Sharing his beautiful birthday message for the world.”
The 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso born on July 6, 1935 is the current Dalai Lama.
Dalai Lamas are important monks of the Gelug school, the newest school of Tibetan Buddhism, which was formally headed by the Ganden Tripas. From the time of the fifth Dalai Lama to 1959, the central government of Tibet, the Ganden Phodrang, invested the position of Dalai Lama with temporal duties.
