New Delhi, Jul 4 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday extended his greetings to the citizens on the occasion of Dharma Chakra day.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the CM said,”Lord Buddha started teaching Buddhism to his disciples on this day. Today, even after thousands of years, his message of peace and non-violence is influencing crores of people. Best wishes to all citizens on the occasion of Dharam Chakra Day #DharmaChakraDay”.
International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), under the aegis of Ministry of Culture, is celebrating Asadha Poornima on July 4, as Dharma Chakra Day.
This day commemorates Buddha's First Sermon to his first five ascetic disciples at the Deer Park, Isipatana in the present day Sarnath near Varanasi, UP.
