New Delhi, Sep 23 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday congratulated scientists of Indian Agriculture Research Institute (IARI) for developing a low-cost, effective technology to deal with crop stubble burning.
Dr AK Singh, Director of IARI, Pusa, New Delhi and several senior scientists from IARI today presented an innovative technology developed in-house by the institute to Mr Kejriwal to deal with the issue of crop stubble burning, which is a major source of air pollution in winter months across North India.
Commending this innovation by IARI, Mr Kejriwal said, "Crop stubble is the major source of winter pollution in Delhi. I congratulate IARI scientists for developing a low-cost, effective technology to deal with crop stubble burning. Governments need to listen and work hand in hand with scientists to address the issue of stubble burning."
