Kejriwal calls for peace; BJP-AAP blame each other for violence

New Delhi, Dec 15 (UNI) Moments after the violence broke out during the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in south Delhi areas, the blame game started between the BJP and AAP on Saturday, with both the parties accusing each other for the current situation, while Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal called for peace in the national capital.
'No one should indulge in violence. Any kind of violence is unacceptable. Protests should remain peaceful,' Mr Kejriwal tweeted, along with a news report of a statement by a group of Jamia Millia students, in which they disassociated themselves from violence during the protest.
BJP MP and party's Delhi chief Manoj Tiwari, however, alleged that AAP was behind the violence, calling Mr Kejriwal a 'traitor'.
"An AAP MLA provoked people at the behest of Arvind Kejriwal. Muslims of the country are with India and not going to be influenced by traitors like you. Stop provoking people. People of Delhi will teach AAP traitors a lesson. The real face of AAP is being exposed," Mr Tiwari tweeted in Hindi.
The anti-CAA protests in South Delhi became violent and several buses were set on fire by the protestors.
Targeting the BJP, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia alleged that BJP was behind the violence during the protest and shared some pictures that policemen were allegedly pouring 'something' into the bus.
"See this photo. See who is setting fire in buses and cars. This photo is the biggest proof of BJP's bad politics. BJP leaders should give some answers on this", Mr Sisodia tweeted in Hindi, along with other pictures.
In another tweet, the deputy Chief Minister alleged that BJP was setting fire in Delhi for fear of defeat in the coming elections.
"BJP is setting fire in Delhi for fear of defeat in elections. AAP is against violence of any kind. This is cheap politics of BJP. In this video, see how the fire is being set under the protection of police", he tweeted, along with a video clip.
