Kejriwal always plays victim card for his self interest: Vijendra Gupta

New Delhi, Jan 20 (UNI) Delhi BJP leader Vijender Gupta on Saturday lashed out at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal for expressing disappointment on the Election Commission's
decision in 'office of profit' case against his 20 MLAs by saying that the latter always plays victim card for his self interest by blaming the constitutional authorities.
" Kejriwal ji always try to plays the victim card. This is not fair. For your self interest you are blaming the constitutional authorities. This is the modus operandi of Mr Kejriwal and his party," the Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta told UNI here.
Mr Gupta claimed that the case of 20 AAP MLAs holding 'office of profit' was violation of the constitution as it is related to the perks disproportionate to their positions.
On being asked about AAP allegations against the poll panel that the MLAs were not being heard on the issue, Mr Gupta said," They (AAP leaders) are lying, this is baseless allegation. They are just trying to delay the proceedings as they don't have any answer on the same."
The BJP MLA said that he would urge President Ram Nath Kovind to make a decision on the issue as early as possible.
The Election Commission on Friday recommended to President Ram Nath Kovind, disqualification of 20 AAP MLAs in the 'office of profit' case .
In August 2017, the MLAs appealed to the Delhi High Court asking it to not allow the EC taking up the Delhi lawyer's petition. They argued that their appointments to the post of parliamentary secretary were already quashed in 2016.
