KDMC seizes IOC's bank account, recovers LBT of over Rs 2 cr

Thane, Feb 27 (UNI) In a major drive for collection of revenue, the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has seized the bank account of the India Oil Corporation here and recovered the local body tax (LBT) of Rs 2,62,72,143, an official release stated on Saturday.
The oil company had paid LBT for the pumps coming under the corporation limits, however, it had not paid LBT for the pumps that were located in 27 villages which were included in KDMC in 2015. Hence, the LBT for the period from April to September 2015 was pending from IOC.
After a review, municipal commissioner Dr Vijay Suryavanshi directed the LBT Cell of the corporation to recover the same from IOC.
