Kavithalayaa Productions forays into Digital Media, launches “Harmony-with AR Rahman”

Chennai, Aug 15 (UNI) Kavithalayaa Productions, founded by the legendary filmmaker

K Balachander, on Wednesday launched “Harmony- with A R Rahman”, its first non-fiction

five part digital series streamed globally and exclusively on Amazon Prime Video beginning

from Wednesday.

A musical treat as much as a visual delight, ‘Harmony- with AR Rahman’ was a curated

exploration of the past and future of Indian music transcending all barriers.

'Epitomizing the idea that “Sounds are many but Music is one”, this digital series will be

a true celebration of music with our Maestro bringing about the mind, body and soul in

harmony with themselves and with Mother Nature', a Kavithalayaa release here said.

The five-part digital series, which commenced today, will see Rahman travel across the

country in real-time to meet the musicians in their very own dwellings and experience their

traditional art forms.

As the series unfolds the lives of the musicians, their day-today practices, performances

and teaching of their craft to students, their stories of struggle and the challenges that

come along, the audience would get to understand what it means to keep such a rich

musical heritage and tradition alive in the 21st century.

Having successfully mastered the art of storytelling for the big and small screen over three

decades, Kavithalayaa Productions Managing Director Ms Pushpa Kandaswamy said 'in

an endeavour to keep pace with the current trends witnessed in entertainment consumption

patterns, both globally and in India, we at Kavithalayaa decided to make an entry into the

digital world by realigning our brand and content strategy to suit the new age audience.'

'Beginning last year (2017) we made a strategic shift to focus on the production of digital

content for leading over the top (OTT) platforms, including the new design for our own logo,

video motif and website', she said.
