Srinagar, Feb 22 (UNI) The 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, the only all weather road connecting Kashmir valley with the rest of the country, remained closed for the second day on Friday due to landslides and shooting stones, official sources said.
The historic 86-km-long Mughal road, linking Shopian in south Kashmir with Rajouri and Poonch in Jammu region, Anantnag to Kishtwar and Srinagar-Leh National Highway remained closed since December last year due to accumulation of snow and slippery road condition.
The Srinagar-Jammu National Highway was closed on Thursday following fresh snowfall on both sides of the Jawahar tunnel and landslides and shooting stones between Ramban and Ramsu due to which hundreds of vehicles got stranded, the sources told UNI.
