Kashmir can't afford to keep its children away from education: Naeem

Srinagar, Sep 5 (UNI)Maintaining that a generation of Kashmiri youth cannot be kept away from education for too long, the Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar today sought the support of different sections of the society, including the separatist leadership, in restarting the schooling.
Meanwhile, Mr Naeem said separatist leaders, including Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq and Mohammad Yaseen Malik have never opposed education.
“While all of us are anguished over the loss of precious lives of youth and grievous injuries during recent disturbances, we have to think about that for how long we can keep our children away from schools amid present paining situation,” Mr Akhtar said in his message on Teachers’ Day today.
