Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Jan 19 2016 6:20PM Karuna, TN leaders demand action in H'bad Dalit suicide incidentChennai, Jan 19 (UNI) Leaders of various political parties in Tamil Nadu, including DMK President M Karunanidhi, today expressed shock over the suicide of Dalit research scholar Rohith Vemula of the University of Hyderabad (UoH) and demanded stringent action against those responsible for it. In a statement here, Mr Karunanidhi said the expectation of everyone was that genuine and legal action has to be taken against those, whoever it might be, responsible for the suicide of the dalit student. Mr Karunanidhi also recalled the agitations by the students following which cases were registered against Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, Vice-Chancellor P Appa Rao and ABVP leaders N Susheel Kumar and Ramakrishna under 306 of IPC (abetment of suicide) and under SC and ST Prevention of Atrocities Act, 1989.Please log in to get detailed story.Tags: #Karuna# TN leaders demand action in H'bad Dalit suicide incident
