Jammu, Nov 26 (UNI) Appreciating an initiative taken by the India and the Pakistan on opening of Kartarpur Corridor to facilitate Sikh families to Pakistan, a family of Prisoners of Wars (POWs) here on Monday have appealed to the governments of both the countries to also consider on releasing of POWs lodged in different jails in Pakistan.
“About 47 years have passed and we want that the India and Pakistan Governments must consider our demands of releasing the 54 POWs lodged in Pakistani jails,” Nirmal Kour, wife of Subedar Asa Singh, a POW from Nanak Nagar here, according to family lodged in a jail in Pakistan here told reporters.
Kartarpur Corridor is a proposed border-corridor between India and Pakistan connecting the Sikh Holy shrine of Dera Baba Nanak Sahib to the holy shrine of Kartarpur Sahib states of Punjab in India and Pakistan.
