Karnataka shines in NEET despite exam disruption; Suchita bags AIR 48

Bengaluru, July 18 (UNI) Rising above the uncertainty caused by the cancellation and subsequent rescheduling of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2026, Karnataka's medical aspirants delivered a stellar performance, with Davangere's Suchita securing All India Rank (AIR) 48 to emerge as the state's second-ranked candidate and Priyanka from Garudanagari village in Hassan district clinching AIR 1,198.
Suchita, a student of Sri Chaitanya PU College, Davangere, scored 695 out of 720 marks to rank among the country's top performers. Daughter of paediatrician Dr Srinivas and Hemalatha, she now hopes to secure admission to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and pursue a career in neurology.
Reflecting on her journey, Suchita said the cancellation of the examination had briefly disrupted her plans, but she quickly regained her focus after the revised schedule was announced.
