Karnataka polls: BJP delegation meets EC, complains about state administration not allowing party to campaign freely

New Delhi, Apr 23 (UNI) A BJP delegation met the Election Commission on Monday and apprised them about their concerns over the state administration not allowing the party to campaign freely and applying rules selectively to create "favourable conditions" for the elections.
A delegation including National General Secretary Bhupendra Yadav, national general secretary, headquarters incharge Arun Singh and natioal spokesperson G V L Narsimha Rao met the ECI and submitted a memorandum in this regard to the EC.
In the Memorandum, the BJP alleged that the state administration was not allowing it to erect its hoardings in commercial places.
They alleged state officials involved in the election work had threatened the party workers and asked them to remove the flags.
'Some state and district level officers are either delaying or denying due permissions and approvals to BJP to put up hoardings in Bengaluru,' the letter said.

They requested that Commissioner of Bengaluru municipal corporation should be censured and disciplinary action initiated against him for denying to the BJP permissions .
