Karnataka Minister orders inquiry into the alleged misappropriation of money in BMTC.

Bengaluru, Feb 23(UNI) Karnataka Minister for Transport D C Thamanna has ordered an inquiry into the alleged fraudulent practices in the Coach Building Division in the Bengaluru Mahanagara Transport Corporation (BMTC), which had caused over Rs 250 crore loss to the State-owned corporation.
Speaking to newsmen here on Saturday, he said that “I have ordered an inquiry into the fraud and submit a report to the department”.
Stating that more than 26 officials in the BMTC, who were facing charges of fraud, have been suspended from the service, the minister said that “during 2017-18 more than Rs 125 crore had been spent in the Coach Building Division and there are complaints of irregularities in all the works carried out in the division. Large scale corruption has been reported in the purchase of spares, computers and other materials in the BMTC”.

Hyderabad, April 24 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued a communication stipulating that every individual employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or establishment, eligible to vote in elections to the House of the People or the Legislative Assembly of a State, shall be granted a paid holiday under Section 135 B of the Representation of People Act.
