Karnataka DCM assures to establish Sandalwood Board

Bengaluru, Feb 25 (UNI) Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwara on Monday assured to set up Sandalwood Board to protect the interests of the Sandalwood growers and to encourage growing Sandalwood in the State.
In his inaugural address at a National Seminar on Sandalwood here, he said that for providing proper security to Sandalwood growers and to encourage growing more Sandalwood in the State the Sandalwood Society of India has appealed for establishment of a Sandalwood Board and the demand will be considered after consulting the Chief Minister.
He said that the State government is giving attention to encourage Research in Agriculture Universities to find new varieties.
