Mandya, Karnataka, Feb 20 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said that the State government is committed on the project of on the lines of Disneyland amusement in Braidnavan Gardens at Krishnaraja Sagar Reservoir built across river Cauvery.
Speaking to newsmen after a review meeting on Tuesday night, he said “it is my brainchild. I pray with folded hands to those opposing the project to support it.”
Clarifying on the project he said that the project would not affect the safety of KRS, besides the government would not acquire lands of the farming community to implement it. “The government is firm on implementing the project. He was ready to discuss with those who are opposing the project to clarify their doubts. This project not only helps to boost the tourism industry but also create employment to at least 40,000 people in the district. The Public Works Department will take up various development works in the district at a cost of Rs 602 crore and install transformers to 10,000 irrigation pump sets at a cost of Rs 212 crore, he added.
