Karnataka CM Bommai inaugurates all-new look UNI Kannada portal in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Dec 8 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday launched the all-new look United News of India (UNI) Kannada news portal.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, "It is a matter of happiness that UNI is coming out with its separate all-new look Kannada website. I wish the news agency all the best for its future."
He also said UNI is one of the largest and most trusted news agencies. Present at the occasion were UNI Chairman Sagar Mukhopadhya and UNI Director Binod Mandal, alongwith UNI Karnataka Bureau Chief Kumar Raitha.
Founded in 1961, UNI is one of the largest agencies in India with several hundred subscribers across the length and breadth of the nation.
Having started its commercial operations on March 21, 1961, UNI has developed over the years to launch innovative steps and ideas that proved to be of immense benefit not only for its subscribers but to journalism as a whole.
UNI was the first to start a multi-language news service UNIVARTA on May 1, 1982 that continues to provide Hindi newspapers and media organizations a comprehensive package of national, international, regional, sports and commercial news in their language of publication.
The news agency remains the first and only news agency in the world to supply news in Urdu. UNI Urdu service was launched by the then Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao on June 5, 1992.
The service caters to newspapers, radio and television stations and government offices. Its ever expanding network covers Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
