Kanshi Ram kins to campaign against Mayawati in UP polls

Lucknow, Aug 14(UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati, who is already grappling with rebellion by some senior party leaders in Uttar Pradesh, could face more challenge in the coming days after the kins of party founder Kanshi Ram have announced that they will join hands with loyalists-turned-rebels to form an 'anti-Mayawati block' ahead of state assembly elections next year.
Kanshi Ram's sister Swarn Kaur and nephew Lakhbir Singh were likely to visit several districts of the state very soon to discuss the formation of the alliance with the rebel leaders.
"Many people opposed to Mayawati are now coming out in the open, but they are not together. Instead, they are fighting each other and are not able to assert themselves properly. This needs to be told to the old Kanshiram loyalists who can regroup these factions," a close associate of Lakhbir and a former BSP leader said here today.
