Kannur calls for 'plastic hartal' on Dec 8

Kannur, Dec 2 (UNI) District administration and District Panchayat authorities called a "plastic hartal" on December 8 across the district, as part of the solidarity to Haritha Kerala mission to make the district plastic and disposable free.
Health Minister K K Shailaja will inaugurate the district level Haritha Missions programme by cleaning the 14 acres of Chirakkal Chira (pond) near Puthiyateruvu on December 8. Port minister Ramachandran Kadanappally will attend the function along with other people representatives. About 3000 volunteers would be participate the cleaning of Chirakkal pond on that day.
