Kannada Rajyotsava, the Karnataka Formation Day was celebrated throughout the State with much fun fare

Bengaluru, Nov 1 (UNI) The 63rd Kannada Rajyotsava, the Karnataka Formation Day, was celebrated through out the State with much fun fare on Thursday.
In the State Capital, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy hosted the national flag. However, the celebration sans distribution of 'Rajyotsava Awards', the second highest State Civilian award function as it was postponed due to election code is in force for November 3 byelection to three Lok Sabha seats and two Assembly constituencies including Bellari, Shivamogga, Mandya (LS), Jamakhandi and Ramangar (both Assembly).
In Belagavi, Police resorted to lathi charge to disburse Maharashtra Ekikarana Samithi (MES) activists when they tried to stall a procession taken out as part of Rajyotsava Day by Kannada organisation by showing black flag and shouting slogans demanding merger of Belagavi with Maharashtra.
