Belagavi, Dec 8 (UNI) Pro-Kannada activist and former MLA, Vatal Nagaraj, on Saturday staged a protest in front of Suvarna Vidhana Soudha (SVS) in the city bordering with Maharashtra, ahead of two-week session of Karnataka Legislature beginning on December 10 demanding representation to leaders from the region.
The president of Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Pakaha, who is known for his novel protests for the Kannada cause, came along with his supporters this morning and launched a 'sleeping protest' by taking a short nap front of SVS where the 10 day winter session of state legislature is beginning from Monday.
He urged to the Government to appoint a “second Deputy Chief Minister “ from North Karnataka region to address the regional imbalance as powers that be in Karnataka always concentrated on the southern districts. 'So a DCM should be appointed and he should discharge his duties from SVS', he said.
