Kangra, Mar 14 (UNI) Modern and automatic machines have been introduced by the Kangra Municpal Council authorities to combat the menace of garbage in Kangra town and simultaneously the roads and lanes of the town will be made dust free by the introduction of dust power vacuum machines.

Ashok Sharma Kangra Municpal Council Chief on Thursday told UNI that Urban Development Department in collaboration with the Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board under PAPA scheme has provided two
types of modern machines to Kangra municipal council for dusting of roads and lanes and removing garbage and leaves from the roads in this temple town. He said that dust removing machine costs Rs. 12 lakhs and another machine costs Rs 3 Lakhs which will remove garbage and dry leaves from roads, lanes and bylanes of the town.

He said that these modern machines with the facility of power vacuum were introduced for the first time in Kangra district by any municipal council and this will help in removing the dust from the roads and lanes. He said that a pressure pump is also attached in the machine to wash the roads and lanes of the town. He said that this will help in keeping the town clean and will provide clean and serene atmosphere for the residents and pilgrims visiting the town.

He said that the place where this machine does not reach will be cleaned manually adding that during the water logging in the town this machine will be helpful in de-watering of the area too.

The town had been facing garbage crisis as the dust bins installed by the Municipal council were missing from the actual locations thus the residents were facing inconvenience in disposing off the garbage.
Residents hoped that by the introduction of these machines the town will feel a sigh of relief from dust and garbage.
