New Delhi, Apr 4 (UNI) Best known for her bridal couture, fashion designer Neeta Lulla's eponymous label has been a bespoke wear favourite with fashionistas across the world for over three decades now.
With an immense online presence and a flagship store in Mumbai, the brand is all set to make its presence felt in New Delhi with a brand new store.
'Manikarnika' actress Kangana Ranaut, who Neeta is currently styling for the film, will be inaugurating the store on April 9.
Kangana said, 'I'm very excited, as one of my favourite designers is launching her store in the capital. The one thing I truly admire about Neeta is how effortlessly she fuses contemporary and traditional style, giving the wearer the best of both the worlds.”
The spanky new store in the sophisticated luxury destination of Delhi, the DLF Emporio Mall in Vasant Kunj, will be a natural extension of House Of Neeta Lulla- one of the country's luxury retail pioneers.
The 2000 sq ft store carries Lulla's bespoke couture, signature bridal and diffusion lines which reflects the designer’s passion for Indian craftsmanship - a versatile mix of saris, lehengas, anarkalis, long jacket kurtas, long tunics and shararas in hand woven fabrics, traditional zardosi and mirror work detailing. The outfits showcase works such as Kashmiri, Chikankari, Benarasi, Srikalahasti, Kanjeevaram, Paithani, Bandhani and Phulkari, which have been important to Lulla’s collections in the recent past.
The prices start at Rs 2,00,000 and upwards.
Neeta Lulla said,'I could not be more thrilled to open our first store in New Delhi. The brick-and-mortar retail space is something that has always excited me but films have kept me busy over the years. I am certain that the patrons will appreciate the glamour, luxury and versatility they find in the store. The New Delhi store is our first venture into this growing market and we’re optimistic that it will play a key role in the long-term growth of the brand. We are looking forward to adding more stores over the next 5 years in different cities.'
The store will showcase her latest couture collections including Legacy Of Qom, Timeless Markanda, Benarasi Charm and Edwardian Vanity that narrate design stories in a language profuse with sophistication, femininity and unapologetic glamour.
Well known interior designer Rajeev Achari has elegantly designed the store experience to reflect the label’s luxe aesthetic derived from traditional Indian heritage through a theatrical display of colors, regal upholstery, wall carvings and ornate furniture reflecting Lulla's signature style. Evoking a rather royal ambience are the arched windows, high ceilings and vintage chandeliers.
Rajeev Achari said,'Neeta Lulla’s DLF Emporio boutique is indulgently opulent – a setting that kindles a feeling of Victorian grandeur. Each element of the space shimmers and glows, the rich metallic textures adding a sense of romance to the ambience. The heavy embellishment evokes a palatial feeling, one of royal aesthetic. The rose gold tones of the furniture and frames, coupled with the opulent chandeliers, ferry us to a different time, a time of mystique and luxury. The frame within a frame of the store entrance gives it the feeling of being a canvas, all the elements within it inspired by an artist’s imagination. The space and the clothing complement each other. The antique charm brings the luxury of the brand out, creating the effect of a story in which the store is the stage and her designs, the characters on it."
The store will be open to general public on April 14.
