Kalmadi declines to accept post in IOA

New Delhi, Dec 28 (UNI) Suresh Kalmadi, who was appointed as the Life President of Indian Olympic Association (IOA), has declined to accept the post after the move stirred a major controversy in the sporting world.
In a letter to IOA President N Ramachandran, Kalmadi said," I am thankful for offering me the post of Life President but I feel not to accept the post in the presently. I am confident that I would be free of corruptional charges and will not attain the post till that time."
Earlier, the Sports Ministry came down heavily on the appointments of Kalmadi and Abhay Chautala and decided to issue a show cause notice to the federation within a day or two.
