Kalaburagi expecting bumper yield of 'Tur', says agriculture department Joint director

Kalaburagi, Dec 6 (UNI) Kalaburagi district, which is called the 'Tur bowl ' of Karnataka, is expecting bumper yield this year due to good monsoon and no major pest attack on the crops after successive droughts of two years.

According to the districts Agriculture department Joint director Rathendranath Sugur, ''Tur is growing in about 12 lakh hectares in Kalaburagi, Yadgir , Bidar, Raichur and Vijayapura ,Koppal districts and the department is expecting yield of 10.79 lakh metric tonne for Kharif season.
