Kakinada : Complex evacuated as 3 pillars found in dilapidated condition

Kakinada, Sep 20 (UNI) The residents of 40 flats in five floored building complex 'Bhaskara apartments' behind the multiplex theatres near the Municipal corporation office here were evacuated for safety by the municipal authorities when they noticed three RCC pillars in the cellar were dilapidated and about to collapse at any moment.
The apartment, constructed 13 years ago, has developed cracks at many places and the temporary repairs undertaken for the past few months did not yield the desired results. More over the situation further worsened with the stilt RCC columns slightly getting tilted due to falling down of the concrete exposing the steel rods.
All the habitants from the 40 flats were evicted on war footing leaving their belongings inside, in view of the buildings precarious condition.
