Kajal Aggarwal, Shreyas Talpade launch social media challenge to spotlight food safety

Mumbai, July 17 (UNI) Actors Kajal Aggarwal and Shreyas Talpade have taken the initiative to draw people's attention towards issues like food safety and food adulteration through the #WhatsOnYourPlate challenge linked to their upcoming film "The India Story".
Both the actors have shared pictures of their food on social media and urged people to think about how safe is the food that reaches their plate.
Aggarwal used her post to highlight concerns surrounding food quality, while Talpade appealed to the public to become more aware and responsible consumers by participating in the campaign.
The challenge requires people to share photos of their food on social media and nominate friends and family members to raise awareness about food safety. The lead actress has also nominated actresses Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Rakul Preet Singh for the challenge, furthering the campaign.
The movie "The India Story" focuses on pesticide-based farming and its associated impacts. The film's team says they don't want to limit this topic to just a film, but rather want to make it a topic of public discussion and raise awareness about the safety of their food.
Produced under the banners of Zee Studios and MIG Productions & Studios, the film is directed by Chetan DK and written and produced by Sagar B. Shinde. The film is set to release worldwide in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil on July 24. UNI NST CDS
