New Delhi, Jul 15 (UNI) The political crisis in Karnataka took a new turn when five rebel MLAs approached the Supreme Court on Monday.
They sought an urgent hearing in their case which had wide-ranging ramifications in the ongoing political impasse for the Indian National Congress-Janata Dal (Secular) dispensation in the hih-tech hub, the software capital of the nation.
Senior advocate and noted legal expert, Mukul Rohatgi, mentioned the Karnataka crisis matter before the apex court.
The Supreme Court stated that they be heard tomorrow along with the ten other MLAs in the ongoing case .
When Mr Rohatgi mentioned the matter before the apex court bench, headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, it said, 'We may hear your petition tomorrow.
"We will see and may hear your (all the petitioners) tomorrow. We have already ten other MLAs petitions pending before us," the bench said.
Karnataka has been in the throes of a crisis after the HD Kumarswamy government had apparently been reduced to a minority with the resignation of rebel MLAs.
