K'taka CM gives clarion call to party workers to work for victory of disqualified MLAs in bypolls

Bengaluru, Nov 14 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Thursday gave a clarion call to the party MPs, leaders and workers to work for the victory of all the disqualified MLAs in the December 5 elections.
Speaking after the joining of the 16 MLAs into the party fold in the presence of BJP National General Secretary Muralidhar Rao and BJP State President Nalink Kumar Kateel in the party headquarters Jaganath Bhavan here on Thursday, The CM underlined that because of their sacrifice by tendering resignation they paved way for BJP to come to power in the state.
"It is our duty, irrespective of difference of opinion if any, to work for their success in the by election. I am confident of BJP winning 15 seats and will have a big function to felicitate them. All the 26 party MPs, Legislators and lakhs of workers should work unitedly for their success in the by election", he said.
"I assure the MLAs who joined the party that I will fulfill the assurances given to them and the Centre Leadership is also with me in this regard. Do not have any fear and wrong feeling that you will become a scape goat. All the promises made will be fulfilled," he added.
Terming it as a historical day, Mr Yediyurappa said that "never in the history 16 MLAs who were disqualified for political milage, resigned their post and joined BJP".
Following the Supreme Court verdict on Wednesday, quashing the then Legislative Assembly Speaker Ramesh Kumar's ban on their contesting the elections till 2023, the MLAs met the BJP Central leadership at New Delhi and rushed to the state capital to join the party.
The last date of filling the nomination is November 18.
