Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi’s ‘Ek Din’ poster sparks online backlash

New Delhi, Jan 16 (UNI) Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid Khan, is all set for his second big-screen outing with ‘Ek Din’, co-starring Sai Pallavi, who makes her Bollywood debut with the film.
The makers recently unveiled the first poster of the romance drama, which has sparked a wave of discussion online. While many praised the lead pair’s on-screen presence, some critics accused the poster of being a direct copy of the original film’s artwork.
The ‘Ek Din’ poster, featuring Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi, was released on Thursday and quickly became a hot topic on Reddit. Reactions were mixed, with a section of netizens alleging that the poster lacked originality and was directly lifted from the original Thai film. Some also criticised the title of the remake.
One user commented, “The poster looks exactly the same.” Another wrote, “Remake of Thai movies, the original movie’s poster itself has been used.”
Some noted, “Title bhi wahi translate karke utha liya (They simply translated and used the same title),” while another joked, “The original Thai movie was called One Day. Inn logo ne ek din kardiya.”
One Reddit user added, “Poster is also copied. AI should really take over. Real creators are busy copying frame by frame.”
On the positive side, many fans were excited about the lead pair, praising Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan’s chemistry. Some even playfully referred to them as “Clark Kent and Lois Lane.”
‘Ek Din’ is a remake of the Thai film ‘One Day’, directed by Banjong Pisanthanakun, and is scheduled to release on May 1, 2026. The film is directed by Sunil Pandey and produced by Aamir Khan.
Originally slated for a November 2025 release, the project was pushed to May 2026. The film was initially titled ‘Mere Raho’.
Junaid Khan made his acting debut with ‘Maharaj’ in 2024, followed by ‘Loveyapa’ in 2025. ‘Ek Din’ will mark Sai Pallavi’s first appearance in Bollywood.
