JPCC celebrates birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda

Ranchi, Nov 15 (UNI) The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee today paid floral tributes to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on the occasion of his birth anniversary during a function which was organised at the state headquarters of the party.
Speaking on the occasion the party leaders described him a great warrior and the revolutionary who gave the movement of ‘ulgulan’ who launched a massive agitation for protecting the identity of the tribals of the state and despite lack of resources took on the British empire and against its exploitation.
Throwing light on the life of the great martyr the Congress leaders said that the day was very important for the people of Jharkhand as the present day Jharkhand was result of his sacrifices. Those present on the occasion included former Union Minister Subodhkant Sahai, party spokespersons Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo, Alok Kumar Dubey and Samsher Aalam alongwith Rakesh Sinha.
