Josh Lucas and other to join Western thriller 'The Rescue'

Los Angeles, March 10 (UNI) The upcoming Western thriller "The Rescue" has expanded the cast with actors Josh Lucas, Tim Blake Nelson and Josh Duhamel joining the project led by Brandon Sklenar.
The growing ensemble also features Nick Searcy, Lorelei Olivia Mote, Austin Amelio and Spencer Treat Clark, while Hassie Harrison has also joined the project, reports DEADLINE.
The film will be directed by Potsy Ponciroli, known for "Old Henry", from a screenplay written by John Fusco. Productionis under way with the film set to bow Jan. 29, 2027.
Ponciroli will produce along with Shannon Houchins and Cliff Roberts. Down Home will exec produce. The logline is being kept under wraps, but "The Rescue" is a modern-day Western in which a rodeo cowboy's skills are put to the test outside the arena.
The film has been on high priority going back to when Skydance was developing prior to the Skydance-Paramount merger and marks one of the first films the new regime has greenlit. Production is set to start top of next year. UNI NST SSP
