New Delhi, Sep 19 (UNI) Newly elected Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) president N Sai Balaji called on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal here on Wednesday and apprised him about various issues related to the varsity.
“Today on behalf of JNUSU and JNU Students met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He congratulated JNU students for our commanding victory and trouncing of ABVP in JNUSU elections,” Mr Balaji said in a tweet.
During their meet, the JNUSU president apprised the AAP supremo about violence in the varsity charging a student group and accused the administration of shielding them.
“ABVP's rising terror and violence in JNU on students and inaction of JNU VC against these ABVP students involved in campus violence and how they are being shielded was briefed to CM,” Mr Balaji stated.
The JNUSU president said, “He (Arvind Kejriwal) felt inspired when I told him how we are resisting this regime, violence and section 144 rules through massive unity, night vigils, protests, peace marches and Non-cooperation. He asked us to keep our fight on and be united.”
N Sai Balaji from United Left panel, which consists of SFI, AISA, AISF and DSF, was elected as President in the recently concluded JNUSU polls.
