JK gears up for high-stakes bypolls in Budgam and Nagrota

Srinagar, Oct 7 (UNI) A year after the Assembly elections, political temperatures in Jammu and Kashmir are set to rise again, with by-elections scheduled in the Budgam and Nagrota constituencies.
The two seats Budgam and Nagrota seats will go to the polls on November 11. The results will be declared on 14.
The Budgam seat fell vacant after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who had contested from two constituencies, chose to retain Ganderbal and resigned from Budgam — a move seen as a strategic effort to consolidate National Conference’s (NC) influence in central Kashmir.
