Jitendra Singh pitches for police modernisation

New Delhi, Nov17 (UNI) Union Minister of State for PMO Jitendra Singh called for new and evolved technology should be utilised to tackle the insurgency and terrorism effectively on Friday.
While addressing the 6th International Conference on Homeland Security here, Mr Singh said the Cyber Security needs to be revisited with sustained renewed vigor so that the country is not lagging in global technological advancement sphere.
“Incorporation of latest researches needs to synergize with the requirements to evolve an effective and efficient Counter Insurgency strategy. With the proactive and pre-emptive approach of the Government, the incidents of insurgency have reduced enormously in Jammu &Kashmir(J&K) and cross-border terrorism”, said the Minister of States.
He also stressed on the solution in the realm of Insurgency issue should be customised based on region specific requirements of the state, terrain of the region and local populace.
There is a quintessential need to be aware of the Human Rights while addressing the law and order and security issues, he added.
Praising the security forces , he said that the J&K Special Operations Group has done a commendable job in nabbing the militants and their efforts are setting a new benchmark for the security apparatus.
